Protecting Crops from Invasive Species
I managed a multi-year Spanish-language campaign for the Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service (APHIS) focused on raising awareness about the Mexican fruit fly, an invasive species threatening U.S. citrus crops. Through La Red Hispana social media and radio platforms, we implemented Spanish-language public service announcements, social media content, media outreach, and spokesperson tours to inform communities about prevention, preparedness, and the steps they can take to help protect local agriculture.
Farmworker Rights and Education
In partnership with the Association of Farmworker Opportunity Programs (AFOP), an advocate for migrant and seasonal farmworkers across the U.S., I led the production, editing, translation, and publication of Spanish-language content through La Red Hispana social media, radio, and web platforms. The effort focused on sharing educational resources and empowering messages that highlight how training and education can lead to more stable, dignified lives for the individuals who help feed the nation.
